How AI can improve society

Abstract

AI for People is a non-profit research organization that believes that AI technology should be planned, developed and deployed starting from human and societal needs. Our mission is to learn, pose questions and take initiative on how AI technology can be used for the social good. In this talk, we will present two of the ways in which we do this: the AI for People Podcast and the AI Ethics group. The AI for People Podcast aims to narrow the gap between civil society and technical experts. In this series, you will find conversations about the implications of AI, especially on the ethicality that surrounds this topic – all this in a series of interviews with high-level experts in the field of AI. The AI Ethics group is an open group which researches on and provides tools for the ethical use of AI. Currently, the group is working on a repository to map out high-risk AI applications.
