We’re looking for a passionate and talented software engineer with interest or experience in UX Design to develop a vocal assistant for call center automation. Our client receives 15 000 calls every day. They want to relieve the existing call center of the most straightforward calls to let agents focus on those requiring human interaction. This will improve the user experience.
We’re offering a fixed time contract of 3 months, the expected duration of the project. Compensation will be proportionate to qualifications and experience. As we are on a tight schedule, part of the compensation will come in the form of a success fee if we manage to release the voice application in production quickly enough. After the project ends, there might be opportunities to continue working on a longer follow-up project, either with Pi School or for our client, headquartered near Treviso.
This project offers substantial opportunities for growth. There are very few specialists in vocal user interaction (VUI) design around, so we don’t expect you to come with that expertise. Instead, we will train you on the relevant techniques, such as vocal grammar design, prompt design, use of confidence scores, or how to recognize structured voice input like in addresses. Your mentor will be Sébastien Bratières. Sébastien has expertise in voice interface design and VoiceXML.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in software development, the ability to quickly iterate and prototype new features, take ownership of the project, great communication and collaboration skills. We’re also looking for experience or a strong interest in User Experience Design, as the final goal of this project is to provide a pleasant, fast and useful experience to the thousands of users who will use it daily. Project success will depend strongly on how well you interface with business owners’ client-side.
