AI Coach – Pi School of AI

Pi School is looking for an AI Coach to join the Pi School of AI.
You will inspire and guide the next generation of engineers and scientists in Artificial Intelligence,
while contributing to hands-on applied AI research projects led by our organisation.

LOCATION: Rome.
START DATE: Immediately

What you’ll do

You will join the Pi School of AI as an AI Coach, dedicated to inspiring and mentoring top-tier learners
in the field of Artificial Intelligence. A significant part of your role will involve hands-on applied AI
research projects conducted within Pi School.

This role is for you if you are enthusiastic about:

• Public speaking and teaching complex topics clearly.
• Providing hands-on guidance in AI to highly motivated learners.
• Monitoring, benchmarking, and discussing state-of-the-art AI research.
• Applying a startup mindset to education and research.
• Using Scrum methodology and Lean approaches.
• Working with data, computing infrastructure, and algorithms.
• Overseeing the iterative development of new AI solutions.
• Keeping up with cutting-edge developments such as foundation models, large language models, and multimodal architectures.
• Adapting project pace to the rapid evolution of AI research.
• Thriving in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

Required qualifications

• Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in two or more AI-related projects, including:
  • Predictive analytics
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Computer Vision
  • Generative AI (in particular, Large Language Models)
• Excellent programming skills in Python.
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, OpenCV, or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker and Unix-based operating systems, including running GPU experiments.
• Strong interest in experimental research and rapid prototyping.
• Excellent command of English.

Bonus points if you:

• Hold a PhD or have 4+ years of industry research experience in AI or machine learning.
• Have experience mentoring junior researchers or defining research projects.
• Have relevant scientific publications or teaching experience.
• Are a Pi School or School of AI alumnus.
• Have strong experience with GPU training and inference optimisation.
• Are a polyglot.
• Have contributed to open-source projects.
• Have published at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, or ICCV.
