At Pi School, we proudly present an exciting new tech talk by Claudio Giovannoni, a second-year PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Pisa. Claudio is at the forefront of developing solutions to make AI systems more transparent and trustworthy through the lens of Explainable AI (XAI) and Multimodal Learning.
As artificial intelligence becomes integral to our everyday lives, the demand for more transparent and accountable systems is growing. Multimodal learning systems, which integrate different data formats such as images, text and signals, hold great promise for transforming industries such as healthcare, finance and mobility. However, these models often present opacity challenges, making it difficult for non-experts to trust and use their results effectively.
Claudio’s research focuses on creating personalised explanations that adapt to the user’s unique needs. His multimodal framework uses the same diverse data modalities to train AI models to enrich explanations, tailoring them based on the user’s expertise, preferences and attitudes.
