Non Destructive Testing

Tech Talk with Piero Paialunga

Piero Paialunga is a PhD candidate in the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is the idea of testing the failure properties of a material without actually damaging the material itself.
Piero is applying Machine Learning techniques in this area to perform Damage Detection and create Surrogate Models that can replace the traditional long-time-requiring techniques.

In parallel, he is a Technical Writer for the blog Towards Data Science, where he writes articles about Machine Learning and Data Science.
He started writing for fun, but he is now reaching an average of 40k monthly viewers and generating an extra monthly income.

In his Tech Talk, he will discuss the Machine Learning techniques applied in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experiments. He will also reveal tips and tricks to start working as a Technical Writer in the Machine Learning/Data Science field.
